The idea for Cootees.com got started sometime in 2006 by two college roommates, who after looking at other sites and stores selling funny t-shirts, said, "We can do that too!" The ideas started flowing, but graduations, first jobs, moves and such kept delaying the launching of the store. Finally in 2008, Cootees.com - Home of funny t-shirts, seriously, was opened.

We like to pull the ideas for our shirts from the surrounding world. Sometimes they stem from pop culture, politics and even geography, but one thing that they all have in common is that they represent us and how we view the world. We are serious about our designs, but there is no topic that could not be approached with a sense of humor. Instead of creating designs about fads or movies that nobody will remember in 9 months, we like to believe that through humorous T-shirts we can maybe bring people joy for years to come.

We love quality. That is why our designs are exclusively printed on American Apparel t-shirts and hand-printed right here in the States. That is also why we aren't trying to compete with the huge t-shirt companies on the 'net in terms of number of designs, we will add a design only when we think it's ready to be released. For now Cootees.com is simply a creative outlet for us, but what we do, we want to do well. These are shirts that we love to wear, and we wanted to offer other people the ability to do so too.
